The Augusta National Women’s Amateur was announced by Chairman Fred Ridley at his annual press conference at the 2018 Masters Tournament. An international field of 72 women amateurs will compete over 54 holes of stroke play. The first 36 holes will be contested on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club. A cut will take place after 36 holes, advancing the leading 30 players plus ties to the final round at Augusta National Golf Club on Saturday, April 1. In the event of a tie after 54 holes, the winner will be decided by sudden-death playoff.
Provided the winner remain an amateur, the 2023 Augusta National Women’s Amateur Champion will receive an invitation to the next five Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championships. In addition, the Champion will receive an exemption into the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open, the 2023 Women’s British Open, the 2023 Chevron Championship, the 2023 Evian Championship and any other USGA, R&A and PGA of America amateur championships for which she is eligible for one year.
