De Bock Earns Second MAC Golfer of the Week Honor

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Mid-American Conference (MAC) has named Eastern Michigan University sophomore Savannah de Bock the MAC Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Oct. 31. De Bock, who previously earned the same honor Sept. 27, was selected for the accolade following a vote of the league's head coaches.

De Bock (Ecaussinnes-d'enghien, Belgium/Institut de l'Enfant-Jésus-Lycée/Georgia) led the way for the Eagles at the 2024 Hurricane Invitational, hosted by the University of Miami on the Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Fla., Oct. 28-29.  She posted her fifth top eight showing in five tournaments this fall as she took runner-up honors at six-under, 210 (71-68-71). To earn her third top two finish of the season, de Bock carded a 68 in the second round to mark her fifth round of 69-or-lower through 15 rounds played. Her 210 is her second-best score of the year and the second-lowest recorded in EMU history behind her own school record of 204 (Golfweek Red Sky Classic, Sept. 23-25) and gives her five of the top seven all-time at Eastern. She has shot par or better in 14-of-15 rounds played this year and is a combined 28-under for the season.

Eastern Michigan will return to action for the start of its 2025 spring season Jan. 27, 2025, when it takes part in the Match in the Desert, hosted by the University of Kansas. The eight-team event features one round of play at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club in Gold Canyon, Ariz., and will feature several highly ranked teams, including No. 6 Arizona State University, No. 19 Texas A&M University, and No. 25 Kansas. The remaining teams in the field include Baylor University, Purdue University, and San Jose State University.
