Josh Brewer, trust built over times

Josh has been my college coach since the beginning. When he left the University of Georgia to join Eastern Michigan, I didn't hesitate for a second to follow him. That says everything about the trust I have in him.

I gave him my verbal commitment to play on his team on Christmas Eve 2021. He told me then, with a touch of emotion, that it was his best Christmas present ever. And in the end, I really think it was a shared gift.

Yet initially, the University of Georgia, where Josh was head coach at the time, was not on my list of colleges. He had come to watch me play in several tournaments, always very discreetly, showing a great deal of patience. He waited for the official recruiting period before reaching out to me.

His presence, availability, and discretion certainly worked in his favor.

During the 2021 holidays, we were in the United States because I had received an invitation to play in the Orange Bowl in Miami. My parents and I had planned to visit the University of South Carolina, then Georgia.

The coaches from both universities had organized our trip. After our campus visit at the University of South Carolina, it was agreed that their coach would drive us toward Georgia, where Josh would pick us up along the way.

The ride had started off very quiet and silent. But just a few minutes after getting into Josh's car, the atmosphere instantly warmed up. We quickly started talking about our taste in music while listening to the radio, as if we had known each other forever.

The three days spent in Athens, Georgia, were a wonderful break and turned out to be very insightful. The campus and golf facilities were exceptional. But beyond the infrastructure, Josh's kindness and professionalism gradually guided my decision to join his team.

Today, Josh knows my swing inside out and knows exactly how to get me back on track whenever I need it. I have made huge progress by his side.

At every level, nothing is left to chance: game strategy, statistical analysis, physical training... Every single aspect of my progress is taken into account.

Beyond his role as a coach, it is above all the trust I have in Josh that matters most to me. He knows my game, my strengths, my weaknesses, and knows what needs work to keep improving.

I have total confidence in him to guide me toward my ultimate goal: becoming a professional player and competing on the LPGA Tour in a year or two, right after I finish my college degree.

Today, I am very happy at Eastern Michigan and have never regretted following Josh. When I think back to that Christmas Eve in 2021, I realize that famous gift was truly a shared one.
