DE BOCK REWRITING THE BOOKS
Through three tournaments in 2024, Savannah de Bock has turned the EMU record book on its head. With nine rounds played, she is a cumulative 17-under on the season, has won one tournament and tied for second in another, and holds several of the top marks by an Eagles.
Ahead of the season, only three players had scored 215 or lower in tournament play in program history, something de Bock has done in all three events she has played. Her 204 at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic (Sept. 23-25) broke the previous school record (211, Anna Watson, Oct. 2-3, 2023) by seven strokes while her 213 at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational (Oct. 4-6) ranks third all-time. Lastly, her 214 at the season-opening Leadership and Golf Invitational (Sept. 16-17) is tied for fourth all-time.
To shoot low tournament scores, de Bock has needed low rounds and currently holds three of the top 11 in program history. Her 68 at the Leadership tournament ranks tied for the fifth-best in program history after being pushed down one spot by the 65 she carded at the Red Sky event to break the school record of 66 shot by Kelsey Murphy in 2015. De Bock also shot a 69 at the Red Sky event to tie for the No. 11 spot on the list as well.

LOOKING BACK: SUNFLOWER INVITE
The last time out, the Eagles played in the 2024 Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational at the Lawrence Country Club in Lawrence, Kan., where Eastern finished 12th overall with a score of 917 (309-302-303). Individually, Savannah de Bock continued her hot play as she tied for runner-up honors with a 3-under 213 (72-71-70) as she climbed from a tie for eighth to the second spot in the final round. De Bock fired three rounds at or under par for the second tournament in a row and 8-of-9 total rounds played in 2024 to sit at a combined 17-under on the season. Additionally, her 213 total ranks as her second-best score of the year with the score ranking third all-time in program history. She now owns three of the top 4 marks in program history, including her school-record 204 at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic (Sept. 23-25) and her season-opening 214 at the Leadership & Golf Invitational (Sept. 16-17).
Two Eagles tied for 45th as Julianna Go and Mariana Vega each shot 17-over, 233. Go posted rounds of 77-79-77 while Vega tallied rounds of 80-75-78. Riley Kim tied for 58th at 24-over, 240 (80-77-83) while Amaya Melendez tied for 64th at 31-over, 247 (81-85-81).
