Savannah de Bock ties for sixth individually as Eagles break more records

The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team, playing in its second tournament this week, finished in sixth place at the Gators Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., with the Eagles shooting 31-over 871 (289-292-290) to finish ahead of three teams ranked in the national top 100 on the par-72, 6,002-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida. The Eagles lowered the 54-hole school record for the second time this season as the 871 bettered the 879 carded at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational (Oct. 21-23) in Hawaii.

Savannah de Bock (Ecaussinnes-d'enghien, Belgium/Institut de l'Enfant-Jésus-Lycée/Georgia) was the top individual finisher for the Eagles as she carded a 1-under 209 (69-71-69) to tie for sixth place, her sixth top 10 finish of the season. De Bock's 209 ranks as the second-lowest in program history behind her 204 at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic (Sept. 23-25). She finished three strokes off the leader, Jessica Guiser (Florida), who shot 4-under 206 (68-69-69) to win on her home course.

Savannah de Bock got back to her low-scoring ways as her 1-under 209 (69-71-69) ranks as the second-best score in program history behind the 204 she shot at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic (Sept. 23-25) this fall. With her score, she now holds the program's No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 (tie), No. 6, and No. 8 (tie) scores.
» Savannah de Bock carded two rounds of 69 in Florida, marking the second and third time she has done that this season, tying for the 13th-lowest rounds in program history. She used those low rounds to not only help her to her sixth top 10 finish of the season but also place ahead of No. 25 Caitlyn Macnab (Ole Miss), the highest ranked player in the field, after the Rebel tied for 13th.
